Since 2006, Matrix Solutions has offered scholarships to honour the legacy left by Tyler Swaren, a Matrix employee who passed away tragically that year. This will be the company’s second year partnering with Lakeland College (Vermilion, AB) and Northern Lights College (Dawson Creek, BC), to administer the scholarship and award one Indigenous student entering an environmental program at each school with a $2,500 scholarship.
“Both schools promote higher education in local communities, which is closely aligned with our company’s desire to make a positive impact in the communities where were live and work,” said Scott Purves, VP Operations with Matrix Solutions. “The Educational Award for Indigenous Students in Memory of Tyler Swaren aims to help drive broader levels of Indigenous participation across the environmental sector at large.”
The scholarship applications and selection processes for 2022/2023 are now open. The final selection of each award will be made early 2023. Click the links below for more information:
