The Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge Fish Habitat Offsetting Project was required by Fisheries and Oceans Canada to offset the impact on fish and fish habitat resulting from the temporary instream bridge berm installed for the Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge Project.
The original 12 Street Southeast Bridge was constructed in 1908 to carry horse and buggy, as well as pedestrians, to St. George’s Island. Over the next 100+ years, the bridge became an important connector link for vehicles and pedestrians.
The City of Calgary required a Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) offsetting plan to offset the unavoidable aquatic effects from the temporary instream berms for the 12 Street Southeast Bridge Replacement Project.
The Project is located near the City of Edmonton in Strathcona County. A front‑end engineering design study was completed by the client to determine the stability of the slopes adjacent to the site as well as identifying other reclamation concerns.
In 2017, Travers 2 Solar LP retained Matrix Solutions to support the environmental components of the Travers Solar Project in Vulcan County, Alberta.
