More than 40 employees from some of the Calgary Support Services teams pitched in to brighten Christmas for some homeless families this year. Through an adopt-a-family program for Inn from the Cold, employees personally donated three large bins full of items from toys to clothing and gift cards. The effort was coordinated by James Guy, Recruitment advisor, Human Resources who reached out to colleagues in Communications, Facilities, HR and Health& Safety to help.“In true Matrix style, the call for help was answered and the staff at the Inn were delighted when we dropped off the gifts,” said James. Gifts will be shared amongst the clients of the Inn.
Inn from the Cold (the Inn) is Calgary’s original and largest emergency family shelter, providing shelter, support and programs to homeless children, their families and others in need, with the goal of building healthy, stable families and ending homelessness.
